Wing Chun Dummy
Wing Chun dummy training is a traditional addition to the teachings of the art of Wing Chun. However, many other martial arts such as Jeet Kune Do also use this type of equipment  as an addition to training. The technique and style of the practitioner’s art determines its use and role as a training aid. An all cases the Wing Chun dummy or similar training equipment is seen as that of a static opponent in training.
While it is beneficial to hear the opinions of other teachers, a practitioner who wishes to use a Wing Chun dummy for training should consult with his or her own teacher on the best way to incorporate it into training as it is a more advanced training method particularly in Kung Fu or Wing Chun. Books containing information on how to use a Wing Chun dummy are available but the teacher’s recommendations would also be useful to the personal training goals of the practitioner.
